Halloween Lesson 2b and 2c
Halloween is a traditional celebration that began in Europe hundreds of years ago. At that time, some people believed that ghosts visited the living people. Nowadays it is a special day in several countries, but it is most popular in Canada and the US. It falls on the same date every year: October 31st. Around this time children wear costumes and go trick or treating, moving from house to house, collecting candy.
For our Halloween lesson we listened to spooky songs, read scary Halloween-stories and ate some candy. We then played a famous Halloween-game called “Catch the Worm”. Strings of candy are hung on a broomstick and people try to catch the candy only using their mouth.
Some students even dressed up as skulls, horror-clowns, bats and zombies.
It was a lot of fun!
